Dr Anthony ‘Skip’ Basiel has over two decades of Computing and Artificial Intelligence experience in UK Higher Education and Work Based Learning. He has been a senior manager for Teaching & Learning, Research & Development and Doctoral Supervision. As an External Examiner for a variety of UK and International institutions, such as Oxford University, he has collaborated with leaders in the field of Computing.

Dr Basiel’s commercial expertise has grown from his role as an Adobe International Education Leader where he has provided consultancy for organisations such as the V&A and Natural History Museums in London. With over 55 international publications since 1996, Dr Basiel sees himself as a lifelong learner. An example is a book chapter on interactive webinar design which is soon to be released by Springer Books. Additionally, he has been a keynote speaker for many online or face-to-face academic or corporate events, such as the ACPI eLearning Conference in Copenhagen in 2019. His forte is facilitating interactive workshops and masterclasses that include augmented reality and gamification elements.

Currently he is Head of the School of Computing and AI at Regent Higher Education College, London where he leads over 15 Faculty and Staff to support more than 200 students. For example, a research project bid has been submitted to the British Education Research Association (BERA) to develop inclusive engaging webinar designs using an innovative ‘fishbowl discussion model’.
